How I capture magic during Maternity Photo Session.

Updated: Oct 9, 2024

Maternity portrait in black and white theme

If I were to photograph a maternity session, I would consider it a great honor to also capture images of the client's newborn. To ensure continuity between the two sessions, I would focus on capturing moments that showcase the bond between the mother and her child.

During the maternity photoshoots, my primary focus would be on capturing images of the mother's belly, as well as intimate moments between her and her partner or family. When it comes to the newborn session, I would begin by photographing the baby's small hands and feet being cradled by the mother.

My goal would be to capture candid moments of the mother nurturing and caring for her baby, such as during breastfeeding or when she's holding the baby close. If the mother has any special items that were featured in the maternity session, such as a sentimental piece of clothing or a prop, I would incorporate those into the newborn session as well.

In the end, I would want to create a cohesive collection of images that truly capture the love and connection between the mother and her baby, both during pregnancy and after birth. By maintaining a consistent theme between the maternity and newborn sessions, I could create a beautiful and memorable story that the family will cherish for years to come.

Overall, I am passionate about creating beautiful, timeless images that families will cherish for generations. I would be honored to capture your family's precious moments through my lens.
